Quality Control at Thomaston Mills

Our 5-Step Quality Assurance Process

1. Fabric Testing & Color Control
In our in-house, QLL Certified lab, we test every fabric for:

  • Weight, thread count, tensile strength, finish, pilling and more
  • Shade consistency using Spectrophotometer technology

This ensures consistency and performance before production even begins.

2. Precision Setup & Pre-Sewing Checks Before anything is sewn:

  • Fabric rolls are checked for width
  • Orders are programmed into our automated sewing equipment
  • Sewing operators verify cut size, thread color, labels, fabric type, hem width, and packaging

Every detail is confirmed to match your specifications.

3. Continuous Monitoring During Production

As items are sewn, operators are trained to spot and remove:

  • Stains
  • Slubs
  • Sewing defects

Any irregulars are pulled from the line immediately, ensuring only top-tier linens make it through.

Quality Manager circulates around the plant to spot check production for size and defects.

4. Final Inspection & Folding

Every sheet and pillowcase is inspected during folding:

  • Items are reviewed again for defects and folded on folding machines
  • Packed to order with custom labeling and packaging
  • Carton numbers are added for full traceability

  • Only verified, quality-checked cartons are sent to the dock
