Why Thomaston Mills
Our mission is to make your job easier with premium quality linens that are consistent from shipment-to-shipment and get to you when you need them. We will not only improve the experience for your guests but while we are at it, we will also grow the American manufacturing base.
Here is how we do it:

Legacy and Local USA Manufacturing
Thomaston Mills was founded in 1899 and is the oldest family-owned bed linen manufacturer in the USA still in operation. Our mission is to combine tradition with new innovations to deliver superior bedding solutions using the American craftmanship of our skilled and experienced team at our mills in Georgia and South Carolina.
- 50% of our employees have over 15 years of textile manufacturing experience.
- We annually produce over 30,000,000 yards of fabric, 450,000 dozen sheets and 1,000,000 dozen pillowcases.
- 500,000 sq ft of space in our Easley, South Carolina and Thomaston, Georgia manufacturing and warehousing facilities.
- Thomaston Mills supports American manufacturing jobs, not just warehouse jobs of workers unloading containers of products produced in other countries as importers do.

Consistent Premium Quality and Long-Term Value Every Time
Total cost of ownership and long-term value is our focus. Most overseas manufacturers make products solely to minimize acquisition cost. They often cut corners in terms of thread count, product weight and durability, proper finish and heat-setting, consistency of shade and hand, the list goes on . . . Their linens can turn yellow or gray, wrinkle excessively or can be very stiff or slick. This is especially noticeable in white sheets. They quickly deteriorate and need to be replaced more frequently. The post-acquisition costs add up and what you thought was a bargain was anything but.
Imported sheets also often come from multiple factories which results in significant inconsistencies from shipment-to-shipment or items that don’t match from within the same shipment.
Consistently better linens improve the guest experience while making your housekeepers happy, which leads to good reviews, giving you a competitive advantage.
- QLL-Certified In-House Laboratory - Every product is tested to meet our rigorous quality standards.
- Optical brighteners - The most radiant white in the industry.
- In-house Spectrophotometer – Ensure consistent shades.
- Special CRF Finish - For softness and smoothness.
- High Heat Set – Set to 350 degrees to prevent excessive shrinkage and wrinkling.
- Heavier Fabric - Providing a better sleep experience for hotel guests and improved longevity of your linens.
- Ring Spinning Technique - Cotton and/or polyester fiber is made into yarn using a technique called ring spinning that wraps the fibers around like they are giving each other a big hug and softens and straightens each fiber. The end result is a refined strong, single ply yarn that resists pilling and stays smooth and soft wash after wash.
- True Thread Counts – Honest quality that lasts.
- Durable - Designed specifically to withstand the rigors of commercial laundering.
- Cost Saving - Will last longer than imports which saves money and reduces expenses.
- Highest Repurchase Rate in the Industry — Once customers try us, they stay with us.

Reliable Quick Shipment and National Distribution
INVENTORY is a DIRTY WORD. Don’t get stuck carrying more than you need, using too much precious capital which costs extra in interest payments. With imports, unless the product is sitting on the shelf, delivery can take 3-4 months or more to arrive which means you need to carry extra inventory to meet your needs during the longer delivery time. If Thomaston Mills runs out of the item, we carry Triple Inventory so you don’t have to worry. Raw (greige) fabric sits at our South Carolina finishing plant, from which we can bleach tens of thousands of yards in a few days then shortly after make hundreds/thousands of dozens of sheets at our sewing plant. You have peace of mind of knowing that we can turn out huge quantities in virtually no time to maximize your inventory turns and avoid costly stock outs. Compare this to an importer that runs out of stock and is out until the next ship arrives – whenever that might be.
- Thousands of Products - broad range of qualities for all types of hotels, resorts and healthcare facilities, including our premium American Luxury brands for 4-and -5-star properties.
- Available now (not when the ship arrives from Asia).
- Large inventory of stock items and the largest variety of stock sizes in the industry.
- We also offer a wide assortment of Terry collections for Room and Pool.
- Warehouses strategically located on both coasts in GA and CA.
- We ship to thousands of hotels, resorts, commercial laundries, linen rental companies, casinos, healthcare, and government facilities.
- Most of our products are GSA-compliant.

Most overseas manufacturers chase cheap labor, lower environmental standards and lesser regulations. Thomaston Mills complies with all relevant environmental regulations, sources locally whenever possible and creates virtually no waste by recycling the majority of our byproducts.
- Complies fully with the Fair Labor Standards Act and environmental regulations.
- 100% of waste water from our finishing plant is recycled.
- 100% of cardboard and textile waste is recycled and repurposed.
- We only use recycled cartons, saving tens of thousands of trees and millions of gallons of water.
